Wanderer’s Cape Town Whale Watching tour begins with a scenic coastal drive from Cape Town’s city center, passing through the harbor town Gordons Bay and the beach hamlet Pringle Bay, before an optional stop at Betty’s Bay where you will visit the large colony of African penguin at the Stony Point nature reserve and also the Harold Porter botanical gardens for the nature lover.

We pass through Kleinmond, a little town at the mouth of the Bot River Lagoon that is home to the only herd of wetland horses in South Africa.

Finally, we arrive in Hermanus. A cliff-top walkway stretching from the old harbor near the town center to the Blue Flag certified Grotto Beach offer some of the best whale watching in the world. An even more intimate, up-close encounter with these majestic creatures is offered by whale-watching boats, a highly recommended inclusion to your whale watching tour.

Our Journey back to Cape Town takes us through Botriver village, Houhoek pass, and Grabouw in the Elgin Valley, famous for its apple orchards.

Wanderer’s Cape Town whale watching tour is available between June and early December if it’s just the whales you after. Whale sightings are uncommon but not unheard of at other times of the year.
